The FIP Bureau: the Board of FIP

The board of FIP because of historical reasons is called the Bureau and consists of 15 elected officers:

  • President
  • Immediate Past President
  • Chair of the Board of Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Chair of the Board of Pharmaceutical Practice
  • Scientific Secretary
  • Professional Secretary
  • 9 Vice Presidents.

Five of the Vice Presidents are appointed by Council from amongst those proposed by the Bureau (who, in turn, receive proposals for candidates from the Member Organisations). Two Vice Presidents are appointed by Council from amongst those proposed by the Board of Pharmaceutical Sciences and two Vice Presidents are appointed by Council from amongst those proposed by the Board of Pharmaceutical Practice.

 

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is composed of the President, the Scientific Secretary and the Professional Secretary. The Executive Committee prepares, proposes and co-ordinates all the activities of FIP, and refers these matters to the Bureau.

The General Secretary is the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for, amongst others, all staff matters and the management of financial affairs. The General Secretary is an ex officio member of all organs of FIP, but without voting rights.
