The use of age-related medicines: Better outcomes for vulnerable patients
28 March 2017, 16:00 CEST

Disease comes with age and consequently most medicines are used by the elderly. However, elderly patients have characteristics that differ substantially from younger patients. Understanding older patients and the environments in which they use medicines is, therefore, pivotal for developing suitable medicines. Examples will be given where drug development was unsuccessful and suggestions for improvements will be given. The future of successful medicines therapy in our aging society depends on finding answers to the needs of these vulnerable patients.

The webinar will be delivered by Tom Sam, PhD, FIP Fellow and winner of IPS Medal. Tom has over 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical development and regulatory affairs. He also contributed to the book “Developing drug products in an aging society”.
