The use of age-related medicines: Better outcomes for vulnerable patients
Disease comes with age and consequently most of medicines are used by elderly. However, elderly patients have characteristics in which they differ substantially from younger patients. Understanding older patients and the environment in which these patients use medicines is therefore pivotal for developing suitable medicines. Examples will be given where drug development was unsuccessful and suggestions for improvements will be given The future of successful medicines therapy in our aging society depends on finding answers to the needs of these vulnerable patients.
The webinar will be delivered by Tom Sam (Phd), FIP fellow and winner of IPS Medal. Tom has over 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical development and regulatory affairs. Tom also contributed to the book “Developing Drug Products in an Aging Society”.
