Introduction
Several technologies have been used in delivering pharmacy education and practice worldwide. This session will cover a spectrum of topics, including technologies used in pharmacy education, practice and resource-limited regions. The session will also cover some of the technologies used to engage patients in their own care. An open forum will engage the participants in discussing challenges and opportunities for employing various technologies in their daily activities. The focus of the discussion will be on education and practice, summarising approaches to overcome challenges to effective deployment.
Learning objectives
At the conclusion of this knowledge-based session, participants will be able to:
- Describe best practices for integrating technology in pharmacy education.
- Identify opportunities to use technology effectively in resource-limited regions.
- Outline types of technologies that may be used by the patient to monitor and manage their own health.
- List types of technologies used by the international audience and discuss advantages and disadvantages of each.
