Season's Greetings from FIP!
Dear FIP Members,
It is coming on that time of year when wishes of well-being and gratitude are particularly plentiful. I too would like to embrace the spirit of the season and, on behalf of FIP, our Officers and Staff, extend genuine thanks for your work and involvement in FIP over 2010, and offer warm wishes to all for a joyous holiday.
Although my time as FIP President has not yet been long, I am already confident in the optimism that the Federation holds for its future, and the future of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists around the world. The success of the 2010 Congress in Lisbon, Portugal - the occasion of my election as FIP President - was for me a key indicator of the dedication we all have for the progress and success of FIP as a whole, to be carried out through the vision, dedication and work of you, our Members.
There is no doubt that FIP is in a good place - our partnerships continue to grow and expand to more and more influential global organisations, our projects are being implemented at an increasing number of levels - Member Organisations, Individual Members and Partners - and in line with our Strategic Plan, we are gaining visibility and recognition on the global healthcare stage.
Yet, we must not indulge in becoming too comfortable in our success. As we move into a new year, I encourage all to continue to promote the vision, mission and endeavors of FIP outlined in our Strategic Plan. In turn, we will foster the growth of the Federation and the ways in which we serve our Members. This is especially important as we move towards our FIP Centennial Congress in 2012, the event at which FIP will truly be in the global spotlight.
So as the upcoming holidays and a new year approach us, let us celebrate the successes of 2010, delight in the joy of the season with family and friends and bring in 2011 fresh with motivation and enthusiasm for the challenges ahead.
The best to all from FIP,
Dr Michel Buchmann
