    Canada's contribution to the United Nations (UN) authorized International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Kabul, Afghanistan, Op ATHENA, involved the preparation of 1900 military personnel from Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Petawawa in June 2003 and 1500 military personnel from CFB Valcartier in October 2003 for deployment.
