    The prevalence of constipation in pregnancy ranges from 11% to 44%. Common medications like lubricants, bulk-forming agents, osmotic laxatives, stimulant laxatives, stool softeners, and enemas and suppositories are not necessarily suitable for use in pregnant women. FDA categorized the risks of taking a drug or biological product during pregnancy..
