    Backgrounds

    Hospital acquired infections are of major concern since they contribute to an increase in hospital staying time, mobility and mortality. Most of these infections are medical devices related where biofilm formation plays an important role. Silicone catheters usage is pointed out as a frequent leading cause of hospital acquired infection..
