    Backgrounds

    Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is most common nosocomial infection which affects most of patients in the intensive care units (ICUs). VAN occurs 48 hours or more after endotracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation (MV) that was not intubating at the time of admission, likewise can develop after extubation.
