  • Abstract:

    Background

Thiolated silica nanoparticles are known to be mucoadhesive and retention on mucosal surfaces is due to disulphide bonds formation between thiol groups available in mucin glycoproteins and on the surface of the nanoparticles. The retention of thiolated nanoparticles has been investigated in vitro on bovine corneal tissue and porcine..
