    Lamotrigine (LTG) is an anticonvulsant drug used in the treatment of epilepsy and bipolar disorder. It is the first medication, since lithium, to be granted approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for maintenance treatment of bipolar type I.
