  1.Purpose
  
  For developing a course of nutrition therapy during NST intervention, the calculation of a patient's rest energy expenditure (REE) is essential. Although predicted values calculated with the Harris-Benedict (H-B) equation are frequently use for this purpose, its predicted values frequently dissociate from actual measured values.
