  • Abstract:

    Rationale: Prolonged exposure to short half-life opioids followed by an abrupt cessation frequently leads to opioid withdrawal syndrome (OWS). Opioid weaning protocols aim to gradually decrease opioid plasma concentration to prevent OWS symptoms.
