Projects

Vaccination training

Transforming Patient Choice and Access in Population Health; Empowering Pharmacists to Vaccinate their Communities in India is a project aimed to train Indian pharmacists as vaccinators organised under agreement with FIP. Approved by FIP’s Board of Pharmaceutical Practice, this collaborative project involves the FIP's Academic Pharmacy Section (AcPS), Community Pharmacy Section (CPS), and the Indian Pharmaceutical Association. Enabling pharmacists in India to vaccinate will improve access to vaccination for the community, increasing vaccination coverage. In the first week of December 2023, 46 pharmacists underwent training in vaccination at Bangalore Baptist Hospital. The training was provided by Prof. Jane Hanrahan and Prof. Carl Schneider from the University of Sydney, Australia.

Workforce development

A proposal is being developed to gather pharmacy intelligence data regarding the deployment of registered pharmacists in India and surrounding countries. This project is under way and work is a collaboration between the SEARPharm Forum, and the education division and students forum of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association.
